Project overview

The use of Computer tomography (CT) imaging is steadily increasing in bone implant/surgery and tissue engineering. The BIO-CT-EXPLOIT project will use concepts for extraction of chemical information from CT to produce highly reliable simulation tools for structural design purposes. This comprehensive exploitation of CT data based on (chemo-)physical principles will lead the way to more realistic and reliable prediction of the mechanical behaviour of bones and biomaterials. At the end of the project, the SME partners will own new software tools that can be easily incorporated in their existing software products.
