From Scan to Mesh in Minutes

3 (or 4) simple steps to convert your medical scans into FEA/CFD meshes:

Step 1:
Image Processing in ScanIP

  • Import image data
  • Resample image if required
  • Apply noise reduction filters etc.
  • Segment image into different masks
  • Volume and topology preserving smoothing

Step 2 - OPTIONAL:
Import CAD data in +ScanCAD

  • Useful for medical implants
  • Interactive intuitive positioning widget
  • Visual feedback

Step 3:
FE Mesh Generation in +ScanFE

  • Assign mesh parameters
  • Define contact surfaces and node sets
  • Define material properties (e.g. Hounsfield -> Young’s modulus function)
  • Conforming interfaces
  • Robust multi-part meshing

Step 4:
Import directly into FE or CFD software package

  • Apply loads and boundary conditions
  • Run solver
  • Post process/visualise results
